She was there when he opened his eyes, hair falling over her shoulder. Cross-legged, head tilted down, book in her lap. Long fingers on the pages.
Pillows. Bed.
It was morning.
Was something wrong?
She usually read in the living room in the morning, so she didn't wake him up.
He put his hand out, resting it on her knee. "Catherine?"
She turned to him with a radiant smile, flipping her book shut.
She was so beautiful.
"Morning, Dad." The tones of her voice were warm and rich and welcoming, and her words were clear and simple.

"Captain. I insist that you return to the Enterprise with as little delay as possible. The contagion is spreading rapidly, and my calculations indicate that it will pass through this area in fewer than seven minutes. All carbon-based life forms in the area will be destroyed. You should return to the Enterprise, now."
"I'm not leaving you behind, Spock. Can you walk on that leg?"
"I do not believe so, Captain. Evacuate the area immediately."

"Brrr," shivered Donna, shaking snowflakes out of her hair, "I know I said it'd be nice to see some snow for Christmas, but I didn't mean I wanted to go to the flippin' Arctic!"
"Not the Arctic, Donna. The Ood Sphere! We've been there before, remember?"
"Yeah, and it was just as cold then!" she retorted, shrugging out of her coat and hanging it on the rack next to the door. "I thought you could find us a nice planet with warm snow or something!"
"It's not snow, then! That's something else entirely! The molecular composition

She came back forty-seven minutes later. He heard her pause just outside the door.
He looked up from his lukewarm tea as she finally came into the kitchen, slightly red eyes refusing to meet his.
She crossed straight to the kettle, filling it and setting it to boil without comment. Pulling a mug from the cupboard, she set it down with a soft 'chink' and reached for the glass container with the teabags in. She tapped her

"Sorry, what was that?" Mary eyed her with a smirk.
"I'm not..." She sucked in her breath as Mary's cold fingers trailed higher.
"Still not in the mood?"
Angela shook her head, breath still caught in her throat.
"Now, you're gonna have to help me out a bit, there, Ange. Was that a, 'No, I'm still not in the mood,' or a, 'No, I'm in the mood now'?"

Donna woke the next morning with the hangover to end all hangovers. She let out a groan, her head pounding its protest as she focused on what turned out, after a moment, to be her bedside table. On it, there was a glass of water and two aspirin that she was fairly sure she hadn't put there the night before.
She popped the aspirin into her mouth and took a grateful swallow of water to relieve her dry, scratchy throat. Setting the glass back on th

A month later and all her things are still in his room. Her toothbrush is still by the sink in the bathroom. Red hair is still matted in the hairbrush on the dresser. Her clothes are on the floor.
He hasn't touched her side of the bed since she's been gone. There's a wrinkle in the covers and a tiny dent in the pillow.
And as the weeks go by he's afraid he's beginning to forget what she smells like.
He sleeps on her pillow sometimes, breathing her in and remembering.
But every time he does it just makes it smell more like him.
Finally all that's left is him.
She's g
