Literature Text

[Doctor/Donna | G | angst/introspection]

she is gone.  her warmth no longer lingers here.  it's cold.  and it's empty.  and he feels her absence more deeply than he'd like.  she's not here, and she never will be again.  the days go on, uncaring.  the sun rises and sets.  in the darkened sky over twenty-first century Earth the light still shines from stars long since dead and gone.  from galaxies long since destroyed.

it offers no comfort knowing that this is right and this is the way it was meant to happen.  because it's not right.  it is not right.  she should be here beside him, rolling her eyes at his jokes and making him smile when it's all gone so wrong.  when nothing's alright.  telling him that he's wrong and that she knows better.  telling him when to stop.

but she's gone.  and there's no one to laugh at his wit, and there's no one to colour this emptiness.  she's gone, and there's no one to stop him.  he's lost her, and he has lost himself.  the storm is rising, and there's no one to stand in his way.
Rated G. Vague Doctor Who drabble. Doctor/Donna-ish, could be interpreted as just friends. Could also be interpreted as being Rose, if you really want to work at it.

Post 4x13 Journey's End, pre Waters of Mars. Not original at all, and very similar to everyone else's pieces on the subject. Woof.

Drabble written for the prompt #96. in the storm from an art challenge floating around on dA. [link]

Ahhhh.
This is so so good.
Oh my god. I can't even describe my love for that last sentence.
